These one-piece rim protectors avoid the "tuning effect" of sticky strips with a systematically visible junction.

More resistant over time and without the risk of peeling off while riding, it will be necessary to deflate and peel off the surface of the tire in contact with the rim for installation. You can choose whether or not to disassemble the rim for installation (it is not an obligation), however it is advisable to use soapy water and a mallet to facilitate installation.

Once installed and the tire re-inflated, you will find that the Model Sport rim protector stays securely held between the rim and the tire, with a really acceptable finish (the black tint is really discreet).

What are the different Tesla rims?

To help you make your choice, find here the different sizes of rims available from Tesla, original or optional:

18 inches: Aero

These rims are the original rims on all Model 3 from 2017 to 2022, whether SR+ (standard range) or LR (long range/long range). The best known and most effective in terms of efficiency.

Please note that Model Sport rim protectors fit with or without hubcaps.

19 inch: Sport, Gemini, Base, Slipstream, Cyclone

Sports:

These are available as an option on SR+ and LR.

Gemini:

The original Model Y rims on the Long Range version.

Base:

These are the original rims on all Model S models up to 2016, Slipstreams replaced them later.

Slipstream:

These wheels have become standard on all Model S since early 2016.

Cyclone:

At one time the Cyclones were available as an option when buying a Model S, but also on its online store for the Model X.Withdrawn from sale a few years ago.

20 inch: Performance, Zero G Track Pack, Uberturbine, Induction, Slipstream, Helix

Performance:

Although these rims have the same design as the Sport, there is no possible doubt: they are necessarily original on the Performance version of the Model 3 in 20 inches. The spacing and the calipers are slightly different on the Performance, which makes it "theoretically" impossible to mount in 19 inches (although it is possible in reality).

Zero G Track Pack:

Available only as an accessory on the Tesla Store since March 2020, these rims are intended to improve brake disc cooling at the expense of consumption.

Uberturbine:

The original rims on the Performance version of the 2021 Model 3.

Induction:

Optional rims on the Model Y for the Long Range version, which is currently the entry level version.

Slipstream:

This time in 20 inches, but only on the Model X. You could also have the "sonic carbon" finish as an option.

Helix:

These rims were previously offered as an option when purchasing a Model X and also offered on Tesla's online store.
